Just a quick one to let you know I'm not going to ignore this journal! But there hasn't been a lot of time to put things in here.

I have been sketching, pulling ideas, getting them down. In general a lot of thinking. Still waiting to get my head cast back then I'll be able to start.

I've been thinking mainly about what it is I want to display. To me, emotion is everything in art. It's what makes it versatile to everybody else in the world, regardless of artistic ability. I'm hoping to achieve a movement of some sorts with emotion. I think using masks as my outlet gives me a lot of really great possibilities. The biggest thing is horns. I've always had an affiliation with horns. Not sure why, but it's always been there.

I really want to take and use horns as a manner of expression emotion. There are so many ways you can do this just in concept alone. You can make it masculine, feminine, sad, happy, excited, reserved. They're like eyebrows...maybe. Either way, drawing drawing drawing!

I have talked to Sean about the show and he agreed it would be a great idea, so we've tentatively scheduled it for next Spring/Summer. That gives me a date to work towards. I already have a piece, which is my first one, the skull mask. Still pretty proud of that, and it was a really awesome learning experience. I'd like to take some better photos of it. Try and do that soon here.

Once I get going, there will be photos and whatnot.

Oh, also, the gallery will be opening next month! Our opening party will be October 17th. Keep it in mind! It'll be one hell of a blast.
